Life’s a Beach

Paddle boards on the beach
Let’s face it, sometimes life’s a beach… and some summers are better than others. And if you live north of the 49th parallel (which a majority of Canada and Northern US citizens do) then you are well aware that summer is a short season.

Summer in parts of North America is 90 days. On the island, I would say we can stretch it to about 120 days. In 120 days to can do a lot to change your current status. YOU can impact every area of your life, relationship, and business.

And because summer is so short – we must make the most of it! I am frequently amazed at how I manage to juggle all the balls in the air.

I take the trifecta approach… sectioning each seasonal quarter into bite-sized pieces and focusing on three distinct and equally important areas – Life, Love, and Business. When you live your life on purpose, balance is an ongoing practice.

In as much as winter and spring are times to create your success plan, summer is the time to nurture and fall is about the harvest.

To nurture: to care for, give proper attention to, and nourish both you and your dreams. To create memories, experiences and moments with family and friends.

Yes, I work hard at this. I tend to get busy and do busy work which is neither healthy nor nurturing.

Summer is the perfect time to bloom, to come undone – to transform.

As entrepreneurs we have the luxury of how we spend our time. Spontaneity to play during the lazy, hazy days of summer is critical in addition to our planned time. This summer I have had the privilege of paddle boarding in two countries on a variety of lakes and the ocean, witness two people I know marry and declare their love, spend some soul-filling time with family and friends and we still have more planned.

Nurturing my relationships and business over the summer is not only a need, but a must. Creating equal time and space to grow and flourish is all about balance.

I set goals in each area to ensure I walk my talk.

2017 Summer Life Goals: 1. To teach our eighteen-month-old puppy to paddle board – as you can see she is already a pro.

2. Continue my mindful practice of self-care and ongoing commitment to fill my tank. Because as I said recently, world domination is preceded by self-care.

Lesson: Teaching Mia to trust that is was safe took patience and commitment, and it was well worth it.

Do something, learn something, be something that inspires you and causes you to think differently. Remember: Sometimes you have to undo it completely to transform it!

Love and Relationship Goal: The cornerstone to my relationships is dedicating time to be fully present. When I am in, I am all in – there is no dabbling. I show up and expect the same. I value the time I spend with others and am committed to moments of genuine connection. I want to give the best of me, and I bring and want FUN. All conversations MUST be sincere, and real – no fluff!

Personal Goal spend more dedicated time with family and friends. Explore more of the island and create more memories such as the road trip with my grandson for two days and lots of laughs.

Professional Relationship Goals – Continue to work with women entrepreneurs who have a big message to share and need a platform. Be the catalyst for change and access for women worldwide.

Question: Are you all in when you are with others? If so, congratulations. If not, what can you do today to change that?

Business Goal: Finish my latest book and complete three big projects currently in the works. Expand the Frock Off reach and launch a new website.

Keeping the focus on the three areas while keeping my purpose, dreams, goals and why top of mind is my secret to juggling with a smile, and living fully without regrets and on purpose.

Summer is a time to thrive, so feed your business, mind, and heart too.

What about YOU? What are you doing to nurture you – your life, love, and business this summer?

Got to run. I’m off to the beach!

I dare you to define success on your terms and to own your results!
